What is a National Atlas

In general a national atlas is a geographical description of a country through sets of thematic maps complemented by explanatory text, statistical information in graphical form and pictures and photographs

It is an electronic version of the National Atlas

What are the scales of the Atlas Maps?

Data used was collected at different scales; 1:16m, 1:8m, 1:4m and 1:2m and the 1:8m has been used for most maps, however a numerical scale has been written alongside each map.

Are there any restrictions on using the National Atlas data and Maps?

The use of all data has been protected by copyright, the right to use data must be sought with the copyright owners; The Dept of Surveys and Mapping on behalf of Botswana Government.

What is MapFinder?

The Mapfinder is a search tool that is used in the PC Atlas version 1.0C using ArcExplorer. Mapfinder is the equivalent of Finder in the PC Atlas versions 1.0A and 1.0B using Arcview.
